Wonky is an African elephant that travels alone and occasionally in association with a few other bulls or Askari's - a Swahili word for guard. Wonky's estimated age is in the mid thirties and he is easily recognised by a deformed left back foot and downward spiralling right tusk. It is unknown what the causes of these injuries were, but they occurred at a young age. Wonky is known to all in Djuma and at wildearth.tv as a great, tranquil and friendly elephant, at times even curious about the Jigga. He is very peaceful in the presence of humans.

Wonky lived a great life in spite of his several birth defects. He died in battle with another bull elephant in late February 2009.
