Tingana, also known as Shadow in neighbouring regions of the reserve, is the daughter of Karula and the granddaughter of Safari (both amazing leopards, who also have FB fan pages).

Tingana, which means the shy one in Shangaan, and her sister Saseka (meaning beautiful in Shangaan) were first spotted at the end of February 2007. As the female normally takes her cubs out of hiding after about 8 weeks their estimated birth date is middle December 2006. Both these leopards are now independent.

Once again, as with her mother and sister, this leopard is very appropriately named as she is seldom spotted and has a very shy manner.
