The peregrine falcons in this broadcast are nesting on a ledge high-up in the 'Cathedral of Learning' on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Peregrines came to the Cathedral in the mid-90s and started nesting successfully in 2002. They wear red leg-bands; a monitoring device that is part of the peregrine falcon recovery program. For more info check out the peregrine falcon fact sheet here. |
