This camera is placed into a nesting box which a gray squirrel has built a nest. The squirrel will not sleep in the box every night until the weather gets colder. The activity in this nest site will increase as the winter approaches. The mating season occurs twice a year, December to January and June to July. Our hope is this nest box will produce a litter of gray squirrels in the months to come. A Gray squirrels pregnancy requires about 45 days and typically produces one to eight squirrels. The baby squirrels will not emerge from the nest from seven to eight weeks.
