Matimba - leopard

Matimba - leopard

December 2005, Matimba (male) and his litter mate, Mbali (female), were born to Safari. Matimba has grown into a massive and beautiful young male and is independent now. Sadly, Mbali died in December 2006 possibly from a snake bite.

He is seen in Elephant Plains, Arathusa, Djuma, and possibly Manyeleti as he searches for his own territory.

Has had a number of encounters with Mvula Male Leopard while the two were seeking their own territories.

Distinguishing marks are very deep Vs at the corner of both eyes. Prominent spot between the 2nd and 3rd whisker lines on left.

It is believed he was sired by Mafufunyane. Safari, his mother, let him stay with her way longer than most youngsters do. Perhaps due to her old age, she clung to him longer.
